What is Risk Assessment?

The Risk Assessment Process in RAP4 enables the user to identify all hazards present in the workplace that have the potential to cause harm and put in place the necessary control measures to mitigate the level of risk.

  • Knowledge-based Risk Assessment control measures
  • Risk Assessment for each work activity step

System | Features

The fully knowledge-based system, the RAP Cortex, can be used in a qualitative or quantitative manner to carry out a risk assessment, ensuring all hazards are reduced as low as reasonably possible (ALARP).

All work activity is broken down into individual steps. Each of the steps has its own risk assessment to control the risks allowing the workplace to adhere to standards and legislation in place by the health and safety executive.

Benefits

  • Identifies and controls workplace hazards
  • Fully knowledge based
  • Easily updated with the best practice and learning
  • Qualitative or quantitative use – adapts to any risk matrix
  • Track and report on the status of action to ensure compliance

We took over legacy operations belonging to a number of former companies. Our challenge was to establish a consistent control of work procedure which was comprehensive and at the same time capable of accomodating the differing requirements of the individual plants. RAP’s inherent ability to deliver these requirements via its flexible icon system was perfect for us.

Permit to Work

Digital Permit to Work is your front-line method of keeping people safe. Providing risk identification, mitigation, and communication key components of safe Control of Work.

Turnaround

The speed at which permits can be issued during turnarounds can have a large effect upon overall performance, with any delays in issuing impacting upon the time taken to get the job done. RAP’s upfront planning capability, its flexible rules and barcode controls greatly enhance this process giving potential for large savings.

GIS

RAP4 can be configured to use plot plans/maps hosted by WMS (Web Map Service) servers. Most major GIS providers support WMS. WMS maps can have multiple layers which can be turned on/off by the end user, and different information can be displayed at different zoom levels.

Utilities and Infrastructure

The Utilities and Infrastructure module has been developed to cater for businesses with widely distributed asset bases and where a high degree of communication between consenting and affected parties is crucial.
